Integrating Emma Email Marketing with OptimizePress

Starting with OptimizePress Version 2.2.2 we now have
Emma Email Marketing Integration at the API level which will allow you to use Emma for your opt-in forms.

This should be a quick and easy integration, but please make note of the following before reading further:

1. Your group must be a “regular” group and not a “test” group in order to use it with the API integration. If you just purchased Emma access, then you’ll need to create a group before continuing.

2. It is important to note that when testing your opt-in forms that you must use a different email address other than the one you have setup for your Emma account or it won’t be added to your group (email list).

What you need from Emma to get started:

You will need to have your API Keys and Account ID.  To get this information, click the settings icon in the top right of your Emma Dashboard, and then choose
“Settings & Billing” as in the image below:

Then, click on
“API Key” and make note of the Public API Key, Private API Key, and Account ID.

Setting up the integration in your OptimizePress Dashboard:

To setup the integration in your OptimizePress Dashboard, first go to ”
OptimizePress > Dashboard > Email Marketing Services” and click “Emma” and then enter the API keys and account ID in the proper spaces and then save the options by clicking the green button at the bottom of your screen.

Setting up your Opt-in form to use Emma:

To use the Emma integration in an OptimizePress Opt-in form, you’ll need to click ”
Add Element” while editing your page, and then choose “Optin box” and the style you wish to have. Once you do that you’ll be presented with a screen which has some options.  Just choose the correct options such as in the example below and then click “insert” to add this to your page.

Once you do that, then you should test the form to be sure the contact is added.  If the email is not added into the Emma Group, then make sure it is not an email that is assigned to the actual Emma account, and that you have selected a group, and the name field.  Not choosing these options would make the form not work properly.
