How to deal with the Home page conflict message within OptimizeMember

About the Membership Options / Redirect Page

When using OptimizeMember, you will be required to set a ” Membership Options / Redirect Page ” in order to activate the security on your pages.

This page is where your visitors will be redirected to when they try to access a secured page within your WordPress site (a page that is secured with OptimizeMember).

We recommend setting this page as a page with a login form on it (you can add a login form using the login element within the LiveEditor), but also ensure you include a link to a page where new visitors can find out more information about your products.

Using your home page as a Membership Options page

Some of our users choose to set this page as a sales page, however if you try to set this page as your sales page which is also your home page, the OptimizeMember system will not allow you to do this.

This is because the Home page is not considered a WordPress page as the permalink is changed when a page is set as the home page, and the system cannot effectively redirect back to it.

You will receive a notice like this:

If you want to use the page you are using on your home page as your Membership Options page, you should use the “clone” option on the “Pages” section of your site to duplicate the home page and then set this cloned page as your Membership Options page
