How to use the Maps element [PlusPack]

New with the Plus Pack version 1.1.4 you now have a new “Maps” element that you can use to embed a map on your pages. This will be great if you need to show a map for an event, real estate listings, business locations, or many other possibilities.

This element can be used so long as you are using at least the following:

OptimizePress (Theme or Plugin)  2.5.10 or higher
OptimizePress Plus Pack  1.1.4 or higher

Step 1: Setup the Google Maps API Integration:

Before you add a Maps element, you\’ll need to setup the integration for Google Maps API. Navigate to your WordPress site\’s Dashboard, and click ” OptimizePress > Dashboard” and scroll to the bottom to the section “Google Maps API Key“.

Then click the link inside that section to setup your Google Maps API key.

After you create your API key, simply enter the API key into the ” Google Maps API Key” field and then save the settings by clicking the green “Save Settings” button at the bottom of the “OptimizePress > Dashboard” screen.

Now you are ready to add maps to your pages!

NOTE: If you do not see the “Google Maps API Key” section under the
OptimizePress Dashboard on your site, then please make sure you are
meeting the correct version of OptimizePess and the Plus Pack as
mentioned at the top of this guide.

Step 2: Adding the element to your pages

To add this element, just open the live editor for your page and select ” Add Element” where you want the map to display:

Type in the word ” map” and you\’ll see the element. Click on “Map element” to open the element options:

Currently there is one map style to choose, however there are other options on the next screen. Just click on this option and then select your location and settings on the next screen:

There are 3 ways to set the map location:

1) You can start typing the address or name of the location and it will show you some options
2) You can click the ” My Location” button
3) Or you can zoom/pan the map and drag the pin around to the desired location

Pro Tip: If you are anywhere near the location you want to have the pin show for, then simply click the “my location” button, and then you can zoom/pan the map and drag the pin where you want it to go.

You can also choose additional options such as:

1) Map Styles
2) Marker Icons
3) Disabling some features on the map

Don\’t forget to click the ” insert” button to save your map settings.
